    QUESTION & ANSWER
Q. What is POLY program like?
A POLY's curriculum is designed to provide every student with a strong and broad foundation in the English language. During their study at POLY, the students develop a wide range of basic English skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Q. What is the average class size?
A POLY averages 10 students per class. However, the maximum number of
students in each class is 12.
Q. How much homework do students receive ?
A Daily homework expectations are different for each level. The higher level class
generates about 1 hour of homework and the lower level ranges from 20 minutes to 40 minutes a day. The actual time depends on a student's ability to plan and organize.
Q. How is the student's progress monitored ?
A Since POLY classes are small and discussion-oriented, the teachers get to know the student quite well. When a teacher has a concern about a student, the assistant director will be informed. If the assistant director is concerned about a student's progress, the assistant director might request a Parent-teacher meeting in which the teacher, the assistant director and the parent can discuss the student's progress.
Q. How does POLY select the students it admits ?
A Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their English language proficiency through a placement test.
Q. What kind of students do well at POLY ?
A At every grade level we look for motivated students who are excited about learning English, use English at every opportunity, and who are not afraid of making mistakes and are willing to take risks.
Q. How does POLY library work ?
A At every POLY campus, you will find a library which contains a wide range of English books from preschool, and kindergarten books to books for adults. All the books are bar-coded and processed through our computer system.
In addition, there is a recommended book section. It provides access to grade 1 thru 12 recommended reading materials.
Q. Does POLY provide school bus service ?
A Shuttle bus service is available for the entire program.
Q. What is the best reason for coming to POLY ?
A We believe it is the people you find here, the POLY family. We are a dedicated and experienced faculty and staff, who recognize that each student is an individual and structure its educational program to meet the needs of each student.
